A dane away is a personal travel journal
run by Danish art director and travel
writer Luise Vestergaard who has been
living in Australia since October 2014.
My name is Luise and I'm a dane away. I'm originally from Copenhagen, Denmark, but moved to Melbourne in 2014 after meeting my boyfrind Tim. We now live in Surry Hills, Sydney where I work as an magazine art director at Bauer Media (you can view some of my work on luisevestergaard.com) and write city guides for several Danish Magazines.
I am passionate about travel and love to explore new destinations. I often get asked for tips to places I've been by friends, colleagues and family. Personal recommendations are always the best and that's what inspired me to start 'a dane away' – a design conscious, travel and lifestyle journal – written only about places I've actually been to.
So if you love beach escapes, road trips, good coffee and big city breaks as much as I do, you can read about my adventures and favourite spots on a dane away.
Please also feel free to download my series of curated printable city guides. There's currently Tokyo and Copenhagen guides available on the blog.
