Coffee at first sight in Surry Hills, Sydney
I need my daily caffeine fix to get the day started and luckily there's so many good coffee bars around Surry Hills where I live. If you're in the neighborhood and in need of a coffee, I highly recommend these 3 spots.
The best mornings are spent at Artificer Specialty Coffee Bar & Roastery where they do coffee only. The space is minimalistic and cosy with wooden benches along the big windows both in and outside. At Artificer you can choose between the perfect creamy whites, long blacks and cold brews made from freshly roasted beans. But it’s not just the coffee - it's the atmosphere, the super friendly baristas, the calm music, the cool crowd and the sunny corner of idyllic Bourke Street that makes this place extra special.
Edition Coffee Roasters
About a year ago, my friend Charmaine took me to Edition for the first time and I was a fan straight away. Their coffee is amazing and so is the food. Edition coffee Roasters is influenced by the Nordic and Japanese food scene and their menu is a great mix of these two different worlds. I normally go here for lunch and always order the smorrebrod dish (Danish inspired rye bread with topping). If I can fit in a dessert I go for the cinnamon roll.
Venus Whole Food
Cini, my all time favourite barista, makes the perfect cup of coffee and she always serves it with a smile (and sometimes a hug too) at Venus. This popular whole food café owned by the lovely Michelle, used to be in the same building as my office space (very convenient), but recently moved to a bigger space… all the way to the other side of the road. Apart from great coffee, Venus is also known for their healthy salads and delicious superfood treats.
